Wolverine has always been recognized as one of the most charismatic and real Marvel universe. Its strength feline and the ability to regenerate from any wound, together with the bones completely covered with adamantium, a rare metal and indestructible, made it one of the most beloved mutants and full of charm.
Origins, in tandem with the film that was released in theaters at the same time, tells the story that led him to be what he is, alternating flashbacks about his past as a member of a paramilitary force formed by mutants and the orders of Colonel Stryker in sequence, always connected, in the present in which the mutants are now recognized by some as a real threat, while Logan is confronted with Victor Creed, and his brother Colonel himself. The game begins in Africa, nestled in a jungle of ancient ruins inhabited by magical creatures and also mutants that do everything to oppose the way of Logan and his team are looking dell'adamantio, until the events that lead to undergo the operation that will transform it forever. These stages, as mentioned, alternating with acclimatized in '"today" in the Marvel Universe, where now there are already the X-Men, and now when the Homo Superior (the name of "science" of the ilk mutant) took self-awareness and the fact that dark forces are trying to eliminate them from the face of the earth, putting their heels Sentinels, giant robots virtually indestructible, and which appear here in one of the most spectacular battles of the game.
Just the boss fight is one of the elements in which this Wolverine can not scratch, since, apart from the fights with some of the mutants that appear in the game - certainly the one with the most beautiful Gambit - creatures that are closing stages There are basically two, raising a little 'the pathos of the whole structure of the game and doing the lessen the satisfaction that you have to pass the levels. For its part, the combat system is full of references to what is now considered a real landmark for the genre, or God of War.
Raven, however, has done a good job in trying to insert distinctive enough to avoid any misunderstanding on the commitment put into trying to give this Wolverine its own identity. Kill enemies leads to accumulating experience and level up, gaining new powers and skill points to improve the different characteristics of the protagonist. Hidden in the stage, also, there are mutagens that can be combined up to a maximum of three at a time and give the additional bonus up to when our hero does not turn into a real war machine indestructible, equipped with a carnet animations of all respect and allows you to perform combos and special moves with ease. It is these small elements, together with many surprises, items to collect and citations also unrelated to what Marvel universes (come to mind references to World of Warcraft and the television series Lost, in particular), are a great diversion for those who decide to spend the time to reach the epilogue of the game, which is closed a little 'abruptly after about eight / nine hours, so as not to reveal too many plot elements of the film. After, especially fans of achievements and trophies can devote to the improvement of character statistics to collect more points, but with a small negative note, or the inability to bring the level of difficulty further the character painstakingly built through the first pass through internships. Raven is the first software company that opts for such a choice, but the problem is that, even just start a game by setting the difficulty level higher, just to see what it leads to overwrite the previous save, clearing for always all the statistics and the experience accumulated.
Objectives Wolverine is quite generous of points and just taking it out in the hours required for the level of difficulty based, allows you to take home to around 600 points. The others are related to the recovery of the items hidden in the levels and improvement of skills. Be careful maxare the character, before going to unlock the objective of maximum difficulty, because doing so will erase the rescue base, losing all levels and skills previously acquired.
A lush jungle
Raven has used the Unreal Engine 3 to create Wolverine, the environments and the other mutants, and this time the engine Epic stands out for cleaning and definition of most of the textures that cover each element. Great the realization of the effect which reproduces the dismemberment of Logan progressive, up to reveal the skeleton, and that slowly reassembles segnalandone the level of residual vital energy, as well as animations of the many moves available. Several shots emphasize combos and powers used, with even one shot kills from a spectacle of the frame that holds the field to reveal the details of the limbs of enemies flying everywhere. The levels alternate between the stage and the African "contemporary", with a lack of continuity of production, alternating good ideas to a long series of prisons, barracks and workshops, it almost never pushing on the accelerator, a bit 'as it happens with the boss at the end stage. Except for the remarkable exception of the fight against Gambit and the one against the giant sentinel, where we understand more clearly the choice made by the team to eliminate the QTE, in favor of freedom of the press buttons and use the analog stick. Choice which, ultimately, has given good results.
