As a web developer you might have families with several feature like Line Numbering, Syntax Highlighting, Auto Indentations and Coding Folding . This will ease the work of a developer to find and formation the coding. Now the same feature is available in new blogger template HTML Editor.
White editing or making changes in the editor you might face wired errors like “Error parsing XML, line 297, column 3” here the line number would assist you in finding the exact location of the error. Previously, there were no lines numbering functionality. This is precisely neat feature for web developers who develop templates for their living.
White you are busy in writing the coding the auto-indention feature automatically arrange the structure of your code in a systematic manner, so there is no need to arrange the coding manually. Since, it will automatically indent your codes while you are writing, so it would allow you to write beautiful coding in a quick succession.
Syntax Highlighter is another awesome feature which has been introduced in new blogger template editor. Syntax Highlighting is a feature that will use to highlight your style, id , class, title with different color, which is not available in old infrastructure.
The new improvement also has error highlighting function that highlights those tags which are causing the errors.
This feature allows the user to selectively hide of show a section of a code that is not currently in use. In other words, this allows the user to cope those large sections of codes while viewing only those which are currently in use. You just need to click on new markers fold “?“ in order to expand your Blogger template codes. For more details, see the following screenshot.
Jump to widget is a most important feature that has been added by Blogger. It helps you to find related code to a specific widget only in a single click. You just need to click on and select the widget you want to edit. See the picture below.
As it is a old feature, the previous template editor too allows you to preview your Blogger template. But the new Blogger template editor lets you preview the template in the same window. See the picture below, how you can preview your Blogger template in the same window.
This is a one of the most useful changes to Blogger template editor. The previous Blogger template HTML editor allows you to only find your blogger template codes. The new Blogger template editor lets you use Find, Replace and Replace All functions. The new HTML Editor has its own Find, Replace and Replace All functions. Just press Ctrl +F to find codes in your template editor, Press Ctrl +Shift +F to replace codes and Press Ctrl +Shift +R to replace all with some other codes in your new Blogger template editor. In old Blogger Template editor,there were a checkbox at the top with title “Expand Widget”.Now it has been removed.It place has been taken by “Format Template”.So if any tutorial asks you to expand widget then simply click on
button.It does exactly the same task.
It is a nice enhancement and I really loved it.Blogger doesn’t allow you to revert back to the old editor so you don’t really have any option.Just try to understand these features and work with it.I am sure that you will love these features as well.
